Axial Promorey

I had mounted and rode this weekend on new Michelin Axial Pro's. After the use of Conti Supersonics, the wreck with same, the Michelins were like riding on a water bed. I loved them, I hope they last.

I have 2200 miles on mine and I'm wondered when I should replace them. They are not showing any real signs of wear

Your tire mileage is very weight dependent. At 180 lbs/82kg, I get around 2500 miles/4000km from a rear Michelin. My 120 lb/55 kg wife gets 2X that distance. A front tire essentially does not wear out in normal riding. It ages and will wear about 1/3 faster when mounted on the rear - but if you weigh a front tire when new and after many Ks of distance, there will be minimal weight loss, and so no wear (rubber loss).

My first set the rear tire wore out at about 2400 miles, I have about 2500 miles on my second set now and have not seen any signs of the casing wearing through yet.

I've been thrilled with my AP's. Smooth ride, good grip in the dry, and no need to inflate past 110psi. I've been amazed at the crap I've ridden through and not flatted, too. I really want to try the Vittoria Corsa CX, but the Michelins aren't giving me enough reason to change.

It sounds as if these tires last a long time too! Thanks

I tried a set of AP 25s for a long week ride this summer at the recommended 95 psi. Even better comfort than the 23s I'd been using, no flats even with a pretty fast 12 mile section on gravel, and after about 1000 miles they look new. I'm going to stick with them.

I really like mine so far. About 600 miles. Only problem was getting one off my Nucleon. Change of tire took more than 20 minutes and an incredible amount of effort. I've got the Axial Pro Light. 700x23.

The wear wasn't awful for a high end grippy tire, but the tire got slashed up pretty quickly. Early retirement. I'm happier w/ my Contis.
