Hey Everyone!
Thanks for the support!! It actually made me feel a whole lot better...and it is a good thing this happened before I got her a christmas present. Well as from my heading I took a nice fall at work monday...fell off a scaffolding about 20 feet up...amazingly, Im fine...fell in a bush and some soft dirt so all is well...I still can decide what bike I want...I was leaning toward a trek 5500 but now im thinking a colnago dream plus with campy record WITH those rad carbon cranks! how trick would that be? And as far as the girl...I think this was a good thing...It has really kicked my butt into gear and I started training for next season...more focused than ever...my bike is alot happier now too...it was feeling neglected and betrayed while I would spend time with the "DEVILWOMAN" haha
thanks again =)

Hey Dude,

All's well that ends well. But pay attention! You've had two wake up calls. Maybe you need to
refocus in a couple areas of your life. The Colnago sounds pretty cool, and the training
focus is great. Happy 2002!

20 footer is no joke!! Guess it's a wake up call. di you experience time dialation - did things slow down for you? That is a pretty trippy experience.

When I was single I always told women that if they make me choose between the things I love (i.e. who I am) and them, then they're going to be really disappointed. Some of them were truly surprised when they found that it was true. Finally found one that could put up with me and likes to ride even more than me. It was a no brainer when she fronted the money to buy my Serotta - after all she felt sorry about me having to ride a plastic bike while she rode her Holland. So we marriedr. It just made too much sense.

Ultimately there is more to life than things, but to give up the things that you truly love to *do* will tear you apart inside. Part of you will die while the rest of you has to keep going. She shouldn't try to change you nor should you change her. Just get out and ride your bike (or whatever) and you'll meet someone who will knock your socks off when yuo least expect it. No reason why BOTH of you can't do the things that BOTH of you love - together. So she doesn't want to go out and get worked in mongo surf, pick tree bark out of cuts, or get grease everywhere - I can live with that. Some one has to be around to to get me to the ER when I screw up. There's a lot of adventurous women out there just looking for the right guy who is not a wuss.

Relationships with the devil incarnate never last....the price is always too high, but it can be one hell of a ride.

Hey, you got some time to lust over all sorts of bad-ass rides. Take your time and try to ride as many as you can. Forget what's popular and trendy (it changes anyway) - go for the one that speaks to your soul. You'll know when it happens.

Stay safe - you don't get to walk away from falls like that very often.

to have found someone so compatible with you.

I had a great girlfriend - but we'd lay in late on weekends while the bike (Cecil Walker custom 653 w 8sp Ultegra) collected dust in the hall. Guiltily, I once quipped that I preferred my cute amuser (the girl) over the mute accuser (the bike).

Anyway she dropped me and I was totally heartbroken. It took a coupla years. Now I have a new girlfriend (who's even greater and cuter) who rides bikes with me. We have a lot of fun together and we are both better riders.

Glad to hear you bounced.

Stay upright.

Can't go wrong with a DREAMCT1

I just built a Dream+ with a Record/Chorus mix for the brother. He says it rides nearly as nice as his C40. :-) Oh, I've got LOOK 396's on order for the nit-pickers out there. ;)

good luck with the decision...... but forget the Carbon cranks, just get Record Al cranks and be done with it. Neutron wheels would be a very nice addition too. :)

good rides

I still cant decide which bike i wanna get...im more toward a 5900 right now...but ill feel too guilty if i order something right before christmas! lol so maybe ill wait till january or something....although I was once click away from ordering a dream plus frameset over the net last night =)
well as far as work goes..im off the scaffolding for a while =)
someone asked me if it felt like time had slowed down or something...well to be honest all i remember was thinking that its gunna hurt pretty good when I fall but at least Ill prolly get to go home...it happend so fast = and i got right up this way any injury would be left laying on the floor without me =)
well thanks again for all the advice
