So ive been seeing this girl for awhile and all of a sudden i dont hear from her for a week...finally i talk to her and she doesnt wanna talk about it and says not to worry about it...but i find out shes seeing some other dude! Well I was kinda angry for a bit but it kinda works out well....instead of buying her a nice christmas gift I get to buy myself a nicer christmas gift...now the only thing i have to worry about is either to get a colnago or a trek....c-40...dream plus...5500...5900?
Ahhhh....now those are decisions to worry about =)
hehe
well I hope everyone else had a better day than me =)
stay stoked!
Aren't bikes wonderful?jba

If you had a bad day, you can always just go for a good ride or buy yourself new biking stuff just to make up for the day!

Good for you! Get a new bike!
That is the way to do it.C-mond

Don't worry about it, just move on (easy to say i know)and keep a good attitude on things. The best thing you can do is not let it bother you, even if you bump into her somewhere (be cordial). Sounds like she could have handled things a little better and a little more honestly. Buy the bike you want and look forward to the future.

A woman who dumped me gave me these words of wisdom that she got from her aunt.

Women are like buses. You miss one and 15 minutes later another one comes along.
how much were you going to spend on this chick?Dog

Man, saved by the bell. Imagine if you'd spent a gob of money on a Christmas gift and THEN she blows you off? Whew. Close one.

I agree -- go out and drop a bundle on a new bike, and then ride the wheels off it. Bikes never leave you (at least on their own). Maybe we can start a "bikes are better than girls because..." thread (or better than guys, for the ladies).

Ah, but yes, I'm kidding. But as the stars will dictate, my prognostication is that you'll buy a bike, try to forget women, and guess what? Some ride, you'll meet the woman of your dreams. You won't know it at first, but after seeing her time and time again out on the road, you'll discover that she enjoys sweating, pain, and getting chainring tattoos. Maybe you'll end up as happy as MB1.

that you normally have to spend a lot on a girl before she blows you off?

Put it this way - I'd be really upset if I spend a lot of money on her and didn't even get blown off...
you prognosticate? i thought you were married. nmJs Haiku Shop

I'm lucky that my wife is fairly supportive of my habit, was an avid tandem stoker before we had kids, and still rides with me occasionally. Good luck to the rest of you!

But I asked her for her birthday gift back......she relented. It's funny, the public is bombarded with the idea that "all men are cheating jerks" on TV talk shows but my experience is that women are much more likely to secretly screw around, the difference is that men don't feel compelled to whine about it constantly. Do I sound bitter?

Sorry to hear your women problems. Took me a couple of these incidents before I just said the hell w/ it, don't expect commitment anymore until you're both damn good and ready. Still, I hate the chickensh!t approach where you ask them directly and they lie and/or don't call you. If you haven't screwed things up and can handle it emotionally, ask her if she still wants to keep going out despite this new beau. Three rules of casual dating; don't talk about your other dates, practice safe sex, and answer questions truthfully if asked directly. Be prepared though for the answer, or else don't ask the question. Same rules apply for both men and women. Make sure she'll play by the rules first though. If you can do this, you'll come out the stronger/better person, get to spend some more time together, and if you find someone else along the way (which will probably be the case), that remains an option too. Takes some chutzpah, occasionally blows up in your face, but hey, it's dating in the 00's. Joy!
WAY insightful comments, I totally agree with all of this. (nm)RhodyRider
