Any tips on dealing with corns?(2 posts)

Any tips on dealing with corns?Brian C.

I've never had them before in my life and only began wearing cycling shoes (a Specialized SPD model) in May. So, it's got to be the cycling shoes.
Any suggestions on how to treat a corn? Any tips on how to avoid getting them?
Thanks.
Not corns but callusesMcAndrus

I don't have corns but I get calluses on the balls of my feet. I'm assuming you might be able to treat corns the way I treat the callouses.

After untold years of riding, I developed the calluses last year. After changing shoes, trying insoles, callus pads and other tricks, I found corn and callus removing liquids to be the best treatment.

With continued treatment - every day for a couple of months - the calluses were greatly diminished. I continue to apply the stuff two or three times a week and it keeps the calluses away.

I believe this medicine - found in the foot care section of a drugstore - works on corns as well.
