I have put up an announcent page here:

http://roadbikereview.com/newclassifiedscrx.aspx

In a nutshell, we are switching systems again because there were limitations in the old system that we just couldn't get worked out. We are bringing the system back in-house, so that we will have more control over things. We will be charging again, in the near future, but at least through the holidays, the classifieds are free!

yeah, but we still have to provide credit card detailsPablo Escobar

im all for security but i dont even let my wife know what my credit card # is let alone use it for i.d. or for web transactions. that said providing card details is no assurance either way as there will always be bad apples and conflicts for those who are none too wise.

im a smart and safe buyer/seller and have never encountered problems by making contact via phone and email and paying with certified check/money order. i always insist on tracking confirmation #'s for goods as well.

the market place was active before. i have no problem with paying a fee for goods sold. but i refuse to give my card details to anyone let alone over the net. i have wasted so much time chasing and proving my innocence after being scalped by doing so. its never really safe.
hey Pablo, I wonder how many get the joke with your name :-)Colombian Climber

ask cippolini.

but seriously, why are we giving credit card details to somebody outside the authority of those concerned with running this site? their interests are different to the site bosses. im tired of spam, im tired of giving out info, im tired having to question why i cant live by using cash alone without having all my transactions accountable, traceable, taxable.

havent we had enough of big brother already.

its only convenient for some. i have made purchases on ebay totalling over 10,000 in the last 6 months with excellent feedback and not so much as a worry. when it comes time to sell they cannot even consider acknoledging my worthiness unless i play those boring rules of supplying credit details.

boring.
