Everytime I see it I forget Eddy has a cameo and just as nice -- Rae Dawn Chong with the wheel change in short shorts.

Man the music in that movie just screams 80s B-movie. Also the scene where costner is passed out while descending is really funny.

and, it's not a NEW drinking game. the one i usually play is: take a big swig every time you hear the words "the" or "a"/"an" on any tv show. makes for a pretty early bedtime.
Changing my name to Barry "the Cannibal" Muzzins...Djudd

How did the real Cannibal feel about that nickname. Why was every rider except the Russians on a different team.
Why, why?Dog

Why, or how, does the younger brother, who apparently has no clue about road racing, show up at a professional mountainous stage race and lead the pack, and eventually win? I don't care how much natural ability you may have, this is flat out impossible. He is so clueless his first race that his brother is shouting "BIG RING, BIG RING!" while they ride in a group. Duh?

At least they didn't have anyone riding 60 mph in the small ring.

Enough of this Sunday ride, let's hurt a little!Pack Meat

Sorry Doug but the little brother (Davey right?) did say in the beginning that he had been winning the local races and he didn't have a job and spent most of his days doing imaginary races.

I love the fat Russians with the full beard and mustache.
You go get him, gringo!Jack S

It's David. And he also spent time studying... the yin and the yang and the bang-bang.

Ok, so he went from winning the "local" races to winning a pro stage race. Still.

Yes, those Russions looked more like sailors than cyclists.

I don't care if it is about cycling, "American Flyers" is to movies what the Taliban is to music.

who's a 'Mr. Crabby-pants'?
It's cheesy, but who cares, it's fun and it is about cycling. It's not any worse than what Indiana Jones did for Archaeology. Indy doesn't spend 3 months digging a 6 foot ditch with a toothbrush, does he? no, but we watch the movie and it's romanticized archaeology pictures and enjoy it nonetheless.

and let's not forget courtroom dramasDog

Just love the movies and tv shows where a case comes in, and then the go to trial the next day. Oh, and closing arguments last no longer than 60 seconds.

Maybe movies always perturb those who know what "really" happens. Problem is the "real" thing (anything) is probably so terribly dull no one would be interested. Didn't you just love watching 10 lawyers stand around and talk to judge Ito for 2 hours straight while you can't hear what they are saying? Heck, even most of the Tour de France is sort of boring. 90% of the time is does look like they are out on a Sunday ride.
