|or bored, or stupid. This morning I actually posted photos of my road bikes under "Bike Shots." Now I get to have the fun of reading the silly, insulting comments of some of the less mature members of this bulletin board. I can't believe the way some people put down and criticize other peoples bikes in the photo section. Incredible. I guarantee there is no way that those same people would make those same comments in person. Its the anonymity of the internet that allows them to do it. Anyway, it should be interesting to see what kind of reaction my bike photos stir up. Nothing unusual or controversial about the bikes or photos, but somehow that doesn't seem to matter. Any bike will find a critic.|

|I have fun in their. I like every bike posted. They are all great machines. People like playing millionaire for a day...meaning when everything is the best, you get super picky. I would ride most any bike posted. The only bikes that really get trashed are from a shop in N.J. that uses that page to advertise bikes in their shop. The only other cases of real flame are from people who post bikes that aren't theirs. Some people post bikes ridden by Olympic atheletes and such. I posted my bike just so people could slam it and have fun. I love my ride, and could care less if my TCR ONCE bike isn't liked by all. You should draw pretty good heat from people like Bertard, Duane, and Lightboy. But keep in mind they mean no harm, and most of the time post's are meant in jest.|

|i posted a couple of my rides and was waiting for the derision which never happened.
was kinda lookin' forward to a bit of verbal bash , conjecture and pointless repartee.
oh, well they like me, theay really like me......
its all good fun. i think everyone should do it as i much prefer to see what people actually ride. i definately like seeing some "different" ideas in regards to what makes a nice bike.

|OK, no fair making this complaint and then not linking to the shots! In all fairness, some folks here have very active fantasy lives and will not be impressed by anything not immediately recognizable as being over $5,000, or sporting all Record. Don't take it too hard - the Internet is no place for a thin skin. As long as you enjoy your ride, to heck with 'em!|

|They haven't posted my photos yet. Fair complaint, but I don't want to use up more server space by putting the images here in the discussion board when they are going to be posted in the photo section anyway. You'll recognize them as all being posted by Dan from Lincoln, England. And before anybody gives me hard time about having so many nice bikes, let me just say that I am an addict for nice, classic-style steel road bikes. None of them ride appreciably nicer than any others, but they were all assembled by me. I love putting together bikes. Then as I ride them I get very attached to them and can't seem to sell them. I've often thought of selling them and then combining the value into one REALLY nice bike, but I'd still wind up with multiple bikes after a few years just because I'd have to satisfy the dual itches of wanting to assemble a bike and wanting to try some fancy new components.
Also, I'm not so thin-skinned that I must have other people's approval of my bikes, but posting a comment under someone's bike photo that their bike "looks like shit" is not criticism---its just being an ass. And I don't agree that these comments are meant in jest. Its just some really immature folks being real jerks with the anonymity of the internet protecting them.
