|3 VERY different frames - feedback wanted||Me Dot Org|

|I crashed my Bianchi earlier this year (bent the frame). I got a new bike (Carl Strong - Columbus Foco - Carve Carbon rear stays - love it) but the Bianchi frame is lying around with a complete Veloce groupset. I'm torn between selling the components or getting another frame.
I have three very different choices that I'm thinking about:
1. Cycloross/Rainbike/City bike: Surly Crosscheck. Around $450 The least outlay, probably the most practical.
2. Screamer short distance bike: Abici Starship. Columbus Starship tubing with Reynolds Ouzo Pro fork for $600. Definitely the most "bang for the buck" and potential resale value. I'm a little nervous becouse Abici is a brand new company.
3. Cinelli Supercorsa: $800. The most expensive, probably the worst value. It is strictly a matter of the heart. It LOOKS like the archetypical Italian bicycle: RED. chrome lugs and stays. Round metal tubes.
I'm interested in feedback from any owners of these frames, or ???

|ryan miller dumped his abici at twilight this year and it broke in 2. if you dont race, then it may be fine, but if u have the potnetial to crash on it, 600$ may seem like a good deal but not if it breaks. i would never consider a used starship frameset and people that know anything about that tubing wouldnt either (ie limited resale value IMHO. You never read an ad that says "bike ridden hard an dput away wet" but it happens all the time|

|Recently a post was written stating that Ryan Miller
(pro cyclist on Prime Alliance Team) broke his Abici
Starship while racing. That is not true, and the person that posted the meassage should check the facts. I, along
with Roy Knickman, own the Abici Bicycle Company. Roy is the manager of the Prime Alliance Team and we are quite sure that Ryan did not break his bike. Starship tubing is
considered by those WHO REALLY KNOW, to be the strongest of
alloys. If any of you ever want to know more, ask myself or

|It looks to me like you've done an excellent taking care of your need for an exotic and luxurious bike. Why not do as well taking care of your need for a simple, everyday ride? Of the three you mention I'd vote for the Surly. You won't be much faster on the Abici or any better dressed on the Cinelli.|
