Just wondering if anyone knows where I can locate any information and/or literature on a 1999 Lemond 'Maillot Jaune' frame or complete bicycle? I am building one now and will be riding it in an upcoming charity event I am putting together. I haven't been able to find any tests or info on the frame at all. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

When I was looking at a used bike, I e-mailed Lemond from its web site, http://www.lemondbikes.com, about the specs on a bike I say on E-Bay which was a couple of years old. Got a response from a Lemond - Klein service rep about the specs. Nice of them to do that. Worked too, because I ended up buying a new Lemond instead of the used one.

I have a year 2000 Maillot Jaune, which is an aluminum frame. If the 1999 is aluminum, then it will be the same frame. Judging by the current LeMond website, they don't make aluminum bikes anymore. That's a shame. My Maillot Jaune is a joy to ride: very responsive, handles exceptionally well, and, as difficult as it may be to believe, the most comfortable bike I've owned (my prior frames were carbon, aluminum, and steel). LeMond claims he strives for a balance of performance and comfort in his frames, with long top tubes, relaxed angles, and similar design features. In my experience, this is more than hype.
