what bike??Yeti

I'm looking for a new road bike. I want 105 components and preferably a carbon fork. I'm 6'4'' 200lbs adn I was wondering is steal would hold up. If so which is better 631 or 853 and why? Also since I won't be racing, would a cyclecross bike be a better bet?

Steel will hold up fine. 853 is a better grade of tubing than 631. It has approximately the same
strength to weight ratio as titanium. However, the strength of a frame is also heavily influenced by
the butting of tubes and the quality of the welds. Which is why higher end frames are higher end
and cost a lot more.
