I did my first double metric. I was really tired, had to take some aspirin to be able to sleep. This morning I feel elated, but tired. I am glad I did this at 58 yo, better late than never.
congrats!!! (nm)dupe

... that's what it's all about... the endeavour... and the feelings it inspires.

I am really elated that I did this. My butt does not feel the same way. Even Udder-Butter did not help. I am going around really sore today, but proud. I did this!!!!! Wow!
AARP guys rule! Way to go, that should show the young punks. nmMB1

Try asprins during long rides to reduce pain & possible inflation around joints from stress. I used this when I used to do marathons. It works but been sure to test it out before any big ride. (When I 1st started using asprins, I thought that more was better & over the course of a marathon I had eaten 5 tablets. Afterwards, I thought I had burned a whole in my stomach....just young & stupid.)

That is one advantage of getting old. you have time to do many things. I made my living doing one, biking I do for fun!

Way to go. I hope I can at 58.

Isn't it fun? Nothing like accomplishing something new.

I take Alleve on really long ones. Reduces inflammation and little aches and pains.

Get out and walk or do a very slow ride today. You'll feel better.

You did a super thing, and one you should rightly feel extremely proud of! Tell people about it: you deserve to boast a little. You'll feel all the better when people see you in a completely new light (as you may be seeing yourself after such an accomplishment).

DEFINITELY massage your legs. If you can get someone to do it (and the lower back), more power to you. Walk today, nice and slow, if your butt's rejecting you. Certainly flush out those muscles; and take Advil or aspirin to allow the blood to flow to every little nook it needs access to.

Top marks, Morey.

Congrats! Double Metric is the next step for me! I'm a 50 year old whippersnapper, so I got 8 years to practice!

To tell you the truth, if it had not been for my son riding with me I think i would have quit. I just could not let him see me give up. Its the old macho thing!
