|When do you replace your tires?
What do you look for to show signs that a tire needs to be replaced?
Or do you just get new tires because x amount of time has elapsed since the last change?

|I replace when the first of these things occurs:
*Worn down to the threads (rare)
*Big cuts, such that the tube can bulge out; a patch on the inside will get you home, but I don't trust them after that
*Continuous flats, after eliminating other causes; sometimes things get embedded that you just can't find, and they keep causing flats
*They get old and hard - some do, some don't
*An important event coming up; I wouldn't start a double century on old, worn out tires; we put too much into getting ready for and doing some events to risk old tires; I'll use the old ones on the trainer, then
*When they get dirty (just kidding)
