I'm a vet rider & just finished my first season of racing. I don't have alot of time for maintenance and would like some ideas about the best racers in terms of durability, paint work etc. I have a 1 yr old Lemond Chambery which creaks a lot & the paint is peeling off etc. I need something less tempermental.
Thanks.

Titanium is the ultimate (no pun) low maintenance bike frame material. Just hose it off. No nicks, rust, nothing.

I'd use "sealed" bearing hubs and bottom bracket, too.

For even lower maintenance, use downtube shifters. Not great for close racing with a lot of shifting, though.
