|Anyone know where I can get a DVD of the highlights of the tour de france (88th) 2001 ? I have seen it on the web for about 54 bucks but I think that is a bit high for a two disk package. Any ideas? It was my first tour to watch and I really enjoyed it.

|I wouldn't expect a deep discount (even with the impending holidays) on such a popular video of a recent and exciting tour. Perhaps in time...
For what it's worth, I opted for the 5 tape set, and it's total yet satisfying indulgence. I get to replay L'Alp d'Huez all day long... If the DVD version had come with the same 10 hour coverage (anticipating a long winter) I'd have gone with it.
I understand that the material and technologies involved should allow for "cheap" DVD's but producing to a small market has it's downside (still doesn't explain why the average new release music CD is > $10 (industry greed = burning of CD's for personal use with little remorse or guilt)). Pay the bucks, then sit back and enjoy a remarkable tour whenever you want.
Since it's raining here with high winds, I think I'll pop a tape in..... NOW
Remain In Light.

|World Cycling Productions has it. Unfortunately, the DVD is not the full coverage version. I'll stick with the cassette so I can get the 10-hour version...

|WCP keeps sending me emails about the DVD version. I think I'm gonna get it. Should be cool to throw it on the PC and grab some great screenshots of the action. I'm gonna have new wallpaper on the pc everyday!!!|

|My bud Road Dog ordered the WCP DVD and all we locals will converge over to his Home Theater to watch it on big screen when it arrives. VHS bike race tapes are great and me have about 50 or more of them going back to 1989 plus i taped the yearly coverage on VHS. |
The great thing about DVD will be the chapter search for the mountain stages which is my primary interest. Maybe they can add 5.1 Dolby surround later :!)
