Custom Steel for a clydsdaleRagz

I'm a big guy, researching 3 bikes for a purchase in late winter. The Independent Fabrication Crown Jewel, Serotta CSI, and the Ibis Sanoma. Are there any big guys out there riding any of these bikes? Opinions or comments from anyone would be helpful. Thanks,
Ragz

IF Crown Jewel. I had two Cannondales before the IF and I love the ride of the IF. It is much more comfortable yet plenty stiff enough for sprints and climbing.
6-5, 210, but I went OCLV and love it. (nm)Elefantino

I've been riding a lugged Tommasini Tecno for 7 years and have never had any problems. Colorado Cyclist has an Ultegra built Tommasini on sale now. Sorry that I can't speak about the frames you mentioned. They each sound good.

I am 6'1 195 on a IF Crown Jewel, I was 220+ when I bought the bike. I went to IF from an AL Trek and Klein and I can't say enough good things about the IF! I still ride the Trek in the crappy weather and I always wish I was on the IF.

I have a custom steel bike from TET Cycles that I'm pretty happy with. I'm tall, but only weigh about 180. I was on a tour recently and met a guy about my height but considerably heavier (about 230 I'd guess). He had a Serotta titanium bike with the pivoted seat stays. His bike was at least a 65cm.

I wanted to talk to him because I had heard that larger sized titanium could be flexy. He said he had had no problems and loved the bike. I would imagine if he had no problems with the titanium than you would definitely have no problem with the CSI.

I too have a custom made IF Crown Jewel. I too am on the
heavier side, recently just below 230lbs. My Crown Jewel is flawles in terms of comfort and handling. Yes, it is expensive, but so was the Cannondale I rode before. My bike was built with oversize tubes (which look awsome), and it is as light as my 58cm Cannondale with Ultegra. Current bike is set up with Chorus and Record cranks. Unfortunately, it has gotten too cold in New York to ride comfortably.

I will keep the Cannondale for bad weather.
