|Anyone monitoring the FC508? I clicked on the website and I think I spotted our man Doug. Scroll down to 7AM solo on the road, click on photo R0010811. I think that's him. Looks like he his holding his own.|

|Dino, yep. They haven't been updating the split times though. These two pics are of Doug on the Bianchi (one, two). This looks like one fron earlier in the day, again on the Bianchi (pic).|

|You have better eyes than I do, now I'm not sure if the one I mentioned is him. Wonder why he opted for the Bianchi instead of the C-40? Perhaps he is going to use both bikes(?). Looking at all these photos of the different riders makes me want to get out and get some serious rides in.|

|He said he was going to take both, and he had a plan for which one he was going to use when, but I don't remember what the plan was.|

|Not bibs, just a Camelbak.
Bibs don't work well when you have to stop on the side of the road and relieve yourself (#1 and #2) multiple times.

|Took 5:51 to do last 47.7 miles. I hope it was because he slept. Total duration almost 31 hours. Leader is almost 50 miles ahead of Doug, and 30 miles ahead of anyone else. Doug's gonna have a tough time comming in within 15% (Raam Qualifier) unless Leader rests (He hasn't yet). But Doug's still out there.

|elapsed time of 34:56. Needs to break 35:51 to qualify. (Leader finished in 31:10). He had 29.5 miles left. It appears he is just going to miss it. I hope I'm wrong in my calculations.
I still think it's a hell of an effort.

|I checked the website at the time of the first split. Now, when I think about the time that has passed since then, and all the other things that I have done it blows me away that Doug has been suffering on the bike that whole time. I can't imagine the mental anguish, GI issues, muscle agony, sleep deprevation, and everything else that Doug must be going through participating in that race. Try and really visulize and internalize about how he must feel right now. Scary, isn't it? I really hope he makes the cut for RAAM, even if it seems like a long shot at this point. Regardless, 10th out of 27 solo starters in a race like that at this point. One tough guy|

|Remember he was injured last month, I think that must have set him back a bit in training. I hope he makes the cut off, if not he will be there next year, you can count on it...|

|Well, finished. My legs held up great, my stomach let me down. Bonked really bad (could not keep the bike on the road) around 390 miles, but recoved off and on after that, even good enough to ride about 22 mph the last 30 miles.
As with soldiers, you fight this one on your stomach.
Going to bed now, I'm tired. Will fill in more tomorrow. Thanks all for checking it out.
