i've been fearing that kilt pic this whole time, and it turns out it's not as bad as i'd thought. (btw, is that a blue port-a-john in the background?)

first reaction (prolly on account'a the kilt):

You mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries. :o)
Oh, there are bad ones too. I would never let SpinchickMB1

digital camera stopped working. Maybe tomorrow.

I like that - International Woman of Mystery. Oh and I liked that thread about you having the Sean Connery accent. I had more of an Indiana Jones character in mind for you though. Maybe we need to do a thread about who has what accent.

J's Haiku Shop - Matthew Modine or Harry Connick, Jr.
Ishmael - Latka (from Taxi)
DINOSAUR - Adam (the D.A. from Law & Order)
Kristin - Darma
Do(u)g - Leo (The West Wing)

Feel free to add here. Oh, and please don't think I'm flaming anyone. I LIKE all these characters.

...or are you a) Irish or b) wearing one of those post-ride "quick-change kilts" that the cycling catalogs sell for $35? It looks authentic, not a generic tartan like the $35 velcro replicas.

Do tell. Also, tell me you don't ride in it! You'd gate grrrray-it airflow to yer unit, tho, mon! :)

If you happen to be a proud Scotsman like myself, I found some super socks online. Check this link:

They're quite comfortable (I own two pair), and represent Scotland very nicely (though almost no one knows what the Saint Andrew's Cross stands for--or, for that matter, that it even IS Saint Andy's Cross); Scots know, though, and that's all that matters.

Nice photo, though. Pay no heed to the "ridiculous" comments here and there; be yourself and be proud of it.

Good on ya, mate.

I should add, MB1, that...nigel

...I was married in a kilt (full formal Scots attire) almost four years ago, and hella proud of it.

:) Ride on, Kiltie!

There is a family tartan. But that ain't it.MB1

It is just the velcro cheapie. They really do work well for changing out of your cycling shorts after a ride.

The family kilt is way too good for goofing off in.

Doesn't the X refer to the cross set at an angle that Saint Andrew was crucified on? Also I think that early illiterate Christians signed their names with an X as a vow to the honesty and sincerity of Saint Andrew. Us Irish know some of these things too!

And I came upon these two guys. Asked them to pose for a picture with me. A nice man named Johan, who said he was a former racer, agreed to take the picture.
I never did get the bike riders' names.

You are/were from Wisconsin and the best you could do for post-ride libation was Miller High Life? No Leinenkugel, no Point Dark?
Guess which one is me.Largo
