Medium-speed group rides in the Palo Alto area?DAS

I know a lot of good 'fast' road rides in the Palo Alto area. I occasionally do them and enjoy them. Sometimes they get really fast. My wife is not fast enough to hang with the big boys. She loves to road ride but doesn't have enough riding buddies in the area. She's a very social rider and doesn't like to ride alone that much. She's pretty strong, and can keep up with most women that I know, but she's not a racer and doesn't pretend to be. She's looking for more women riders like herself in the area.

Is there a friendly group ride that she could join? Maybe a wider audience ride, not just club riders and racers. I would think that there are weekly rides that meet up for a casual, semi-fast loop. I'm guessing that there are some group rides with all-levels riders that meet up, socialize a bit, and then the slower 'grupetto' would form it's own pack in the back.

She's considering Team in Training but she's not really targeting a big race and she's already in pretty good shape. But, she's not counting any options out, she just wants to ride. Just like the rest of us!

Any ideas would be appreciated. Or, maybe some riders want to email her if they are in the same position?

The web site lists many rides and grades them by pace/difficulty. She is sure to find something.

Check out Bicycle Outfitter in Los Altos. They usually have some kind of organized ride on the weekends.
