Look at the following link. This cycle(bent?) hit 80.55mph on one pass.

I would hate see thighs come in contact with front wheel at that speed :o()
How does one see?Jay

With all that fairing around him? Especially of the one pic of the Diablo with his head on the headrest seemingly looking up towards the sky.. Looks like road dual-pivot brakes. Looks like it would be hard to spot potholes in such a thing...

A couple of things I noticed......Dave Hickey

1. It looks like it uses a plain old RSX rear derailleur
2. With all the talk about carbon fiber strength, look how they gained access to the valve stem on the disk wheel. It looks like they just gouged out a hole. I'm not sure I'd trust that wheel at 80mph!
yup, I saw that too..Jay

Looks like somebody let a dog chew it up...

How does one stop at 80mph? a drag chute? Hope they have their brakes adjusted evenly! :-)

Freddy is now 44 and wants his old title back. He has 14 HPV records including the world's fastest from '87 through '92 with the Gold Rush bike (now in the Smithsonian). He used to race in the ill-fated National Cycling League (is that what is was called?) that had teams competing on a crit course for roller derby type points. I got to meet him at a team meeting a while back and saw him race track and NCL. You'd think he would be a huge, powerful looking guy, but he wasn't all that big. A nice guy that didn't mind helping other aspiring racers.
