disposable income...

Airborne's Stratoliner shows that this company may be taking a Trek "Let no market remain untapped" policy.

Why would somebody want a bike like this? Most "hybrid" buyers won't spend more than $350 on an entire bike, and the wheels alone one this are worth more than that.

I think those wheels are Shimano R535's. About $250 a set if I'm not mistaken. I do agree that it'll be too expensive for a family cruiser. Remember the Merlin Newsboy? Did they actually sell any of those?

Did you ever see one of those? I'm sure someone must buy this stuff. Look at what sells at Nieman-Marcus around Christmas time!

arguably these oddities probably contribute to the company's long-term survival and help keep the cost of your roadbike down! Laugh if you must, but these "baby boomers" are probably subsidizing your ride (no matter what you ride)!

Let me start by saying I am 23 and have absolutly no interest in owning that bike my self. however, I think bikes like this one have an important place in cycling. It is a good quality bicycle that is comfortable enough for someone who is not a hard core cyclist. I hope they sell a million of them and people ride them once and actually like it because it is light and comfortable. then maybe they will ride it again and again. I have an old cannondale that I had when I was 13. It fits some girls that I know. I have offered it to three girls so far and they ride it once, it is way to agressive a posture for them and they never ride it again.

Most comfort bikes are medium quility at best. much too heavy to ride for a long time and not going to last for too long. people buy them ride a few times then forget about it.

So I say buy one for your wife, dad, mom, husband, whoever. they just might like it.
