|Developed this in February. Went to physical therapy and was assigned a weight program to strengthen my VMO. No problems all summer. Got trauma induced patello tendonitis in my LEFT knee at the end of a summer because of a crash. Stopped weight program for about three weeks. Started again last week. Got on bike for first time this week. First ride Monday was fine. Second ride Wednesday, my RIGHT knee started botherig me... feels like onset of PFS. What's up??? Did I atrophy that much from 3 weeks without weights???? This is very frustrating. One knee heals and the other goes out on me. I'm 23!!! This shouldn't be happening. Anyone with similar problem. Thoughts??? Comments???

Developed the FEBRUARY patellofemoral dysfunction in which knee?
Did you strengthen both left and right VMOs?
What was the nature of your weight program?
How much float do your pedals have?
What's your average cadence?
How many teeth does your largest rear cog and smallest front chainwheel have?

|See a doctor, and get a professional opinion and diagnosis.
Three weeks is enough time to lose some strength and flexibility, both could aggravate a number of chronic or acute conditions in the knee. It's hard to say what is wrong with you knee in this forum. Go to a doc, so that you know exactly what is going on, and take it from there. I have helped rehab a number of injured knees, and the thing that all the injuries have in common is the doctor. You simply have to talk to the doctor to make a rehab program that is correct and functional. Take that first step.
