Shimano "Eagle" components? (on an old cruiser)Spinchick

Anyone know how old a Ross Eurotour might be with Eagle componentry? (Doesn't look at all like a modern derailer). Actually the brake calipers are Weinman (I think?). It's a 5 speed. Was thinking of cleaning it up for a beater/tow path bike. May be a POS but it was a free POS.

Oh yeah, and it's a "girl's" bike. No tt. Good for when I'm wearing those long, ankle-length skirts and petticoats. Thank goodness, I'm sick of wearing spandex.

You've got an old beater there. Shimano Eagle were/are old wide range steel parts. Nothing fancy, got the job done. That is pretty old stuff-it was new when I was working in bike shops in the 70s.

If it works don't mess with it. Might need new cables and chain if they are rusty. New brake pads might help too. No need to spend more than $20 to fix it up and get a pretty pink flower basket for it too.
Actually, the only thing I'm going to need to replaceSpinchick

is one cable, the rear brake pads and the tires. Everything else is fine. Used a little fine steel wool on the mildly rusted areas and it cleaned up pretty well. Now on to the Huffy. I love trash-picking...
