Do you have AAA?(9 posts)

Do you have AAA?Highgear

This is something all of us should have and it only costs $5. It's called something like travel health insurance. It covers up to $500 in doctors bills and is paid to YOU even when your health insurance has already paid all the bills in full. This $5 plan covers you while cycling and doing other activities. My wife took out this plan for me when she enrolled us in AAA. It covered $500 in bike expenses for me last year when a rider took me down while descending at 40mph. That $500 helped ease some of the pain.

Is that obtained though AAA? Is it a rider on a car policy?
$5 per year. Nothing to do with car insurance. (NM)Highgear

Don't count on AAA wreckers getting you out of a bind in a hurry. I've seen first hand where someone calls for an AAA wrecker, and waits for hours for one to come from two towns away!!!
Both have happened to me -- wrecker in 20 mins, in 2 hrs. nmbill

I've got the 100 mile tow option... can I get a ride home with my bike if I have a bike failure? Auto club of SoCa member.
