I am about to buy new wheels because the wheels on my bike is Vuelta Airline 2 and these are everything but stiff.
And i've been given a good price one a hand-build pair with Mavic Open Pro CD rims, 32 DT comp spokes and Shimano Ultegra hubs.
Is this a setup that will make good and stiff wheels for competition?? (if it matters, i wheigt around 75kilos)

I think that's a real sensible wheelset for almost any road bike use.

These are solid performers. Not flashy but pretty hard to beat in terms of weight-performance/$. I have mine built with Dura Ace hubs. Quite a bit of weigt savings for litrtle money to step up to Dura Ace. May need to re-grease hubs from advice on the messageboard. Haven't had problems with the grease yet but I plan to around 1000 mi.
