| Bridgestone Info? | WAM Sep 26, 2001 12:19 PM | | Anyone have know anything about Bridgestones or know of any websites that have any info. I'm looking at a 550 to use as a winter ride and possible fixed gear. So far my only hint at the year is that it's a 12 speed.
Any info would be great. |

| Still have 3 in the family, including a 550 | cory Sep 27, 2001 7:36 AM | | As somebody else said, they were nice, well thought-out bikes that got swamped by mass hysteria, I think--they weren't exactly like everything else, and people fell for the newest-latest-greatest hype. Grant Petersen, who used to design them, founded Rivendell, and my Atlantis is just dead-on perfect for all-around riding.
We still have three of 'em in the family. My wife's road bike is a 550, must be from the early '90s. She's more of a mountain biker now, but it still gets ridden occasionally. Just keeps on rolling--good components, reasonable geometry, a nice bike. Only drawback i can see for winter use is that I don't think there's room for fenders, which are nice to have. |
