To wax, or not to wax? That is the question...Bikeman

Hello all,
I've finally decided to do something about my hairy "spider" legs. I know heaps of people shave their legs, but what about waxing? I don't really like the thought of having to shave my legs every few days - but you can go for weeks without re-waxing (so the women in my household say!). Plus the hairs are supposed to grow back thinner!! They've also told me it hurts much more if you do it yourself rather than at a wax clinic or whatever.

bicycling.com seems to think that (for men) it is excruciating - but why should it hurt more for men than women? Will ripping out the entire hair all the way to the root interfere with my legs ability to perspire?
Have any men tried waxing? Will it work? Anything else I should know before I try it?

Thanx

try and once and you'll find out. I think it's fine personally, I'm going in this weekend for another. I'd rather have 30 minutes of pain once every month or two than have to shave every few days. If you go to a proper salon, they should put soothing gels on afterwards, it feels great, get a little rub down at the same time !!
