Hi,
I'm a new rider, and I just moved to Laurel, Maryland, which is between Baltimore and DC. Do any of you know of any good rides around my place?

Also, do you know of any good pro bike shops that can tune my bike and provide good equipment?

hey. I live in Laurel, too.

Check here for DC-area cue sheets: http://www.velodrome-usa.com/aidsrides/dccues/

There is an excellent bike shop in College Park - College Park Bicycles. Take Route 1 to Knox Road (just past the U. of Maryland). Hang a right on Knox Road & the shop is on your right, beside the 7-11.

peace.
Check yesterdays posts, it is all there. nmMB1

I live in the Baltimore area and do not have any suggestions about your immediate area. However, there are many good rides in Northern Baltimore County, Carroll County and Frederick County -- all of which are less than an hour (by car) from Laurel. I would recommend that you get a copy of the Washington Area Bicycle Atlas (Jim McCarthy & Sharon Gang, eds.). Most major bookstores and bike shops in the area carry the book. The book has 60+ tours of varying length and difficulty in and near Washington. I have taken several of the tours and have found the book to be accurate and very helpful.
