I think I am going to portland next week. any good shops???

on what you are looking for.

If you are just going to check out bikes, River City is a good place to go. Lots of stuff there, but their prices are a little high.

There are Bike-N-Hikes all over the place but they don't have as much stock as other stores.

If you can go over to Beaverton there is the Performance bike shop that has lots of stuff and good prices. Also just down the street from there is another bike shop (can't remember the name).

Like I said, it just depends on what you are looking for and where you are going to be.

Like Ron B said, River City is the bike mecca in Portland, just over the Morrison St. bridge, I believe. I live in Seattle, but make a point of swinging through River City whenever I'm in Portland. Yes, the prices are a little steep, but with no Oregon sales tax it all evens out for a Washington resident like me.
Hey, River City knows they are so cool, they sell old-style wool jerseys with their name and logo.
