Reason to go to campy?(14 posts)

Reason to go to campy?Avanti Guy

Well looks like Campy are trying to one up Shimano.

This is taken from www.campyonly.com

Campagnolo has done it again--they snuck 10-speed onto market, and now
they have chosen the EICMA show in Milan, Italy, to unveil the
long-rumored carbon crankset. Early information says that the carbon
crankset is about 135 grams lighter than the standard alloy version.
Look for Campagnolo to start shipping the cranks in October; they should
be in stores in November. Watch for more information as it becomes
available.

Add a Campy Record Groupset Mavic Krysiums and one of the new Look 381 or KX frames and you have yourself one good looking bike :)...

Check out the campyonly web site for the cool looking wheels too. :)

Campy does it again big time!

Sure would look nice with my Record carbon levers. What price vanity?
cheap at twice the price... ;)KG281

Actually, the -130gms is a pretty impressive drop in weight. Even if it was 50% more than the Record crank it would probably be a "good buy" in terms of weight loss.

It's beautiful alright. But I still love Shimano! ;)
Long live 105 (or Dura Ace or Ultegra or whatever Shimano gruppo you have)!
That is one beautiful crank (nm)Dutchy

Campy doesn't need more reasons to make me use themclimbo

but I'm glad they keep coming up with them, that is one sweet MF'er of a crank.

I saw the Mercatone team using them in yesterday's stage of the Vuelta. They definitely had black crank arms while the other Campy teams had the standard alum. arms. Anyone else notice this?

At Campy only, they also mentioned Bianchi had a Carbon crank. They were'nt sure but they didn't think they were a Campy product.

They look different than the Campy's.

What's with the red Bianchi?

Yeah, I may have to go Campy. I almost did on my last bike, but stayed D/A. It is funny you mention Look, my next bike will be the KG381i. A matte black 381i w/ record carbon bottom bracket, rear derailleur, ergo-levers, obviously the new cranks, a Look ergo-post, the new Look Carbostem, Easton carbon bars, Look CX-7 pedals. Oooohhhhh, I'm getting excited. I love carbon!
