Who's ridden the Death Valley by Moonlight century? I am curious about it. Let me know what you thought of it.

Wow, that sounds excellent. Particularly under full moon.
It is one seriously beautiful ride.MB1

I have dont the Double many times. The Century turns around at the top of the first and easiest pass. During the double we often caught the slower century riders and finished with them.

You really do not need a headlight to see-just for safety so the weakest light is best. A too strong headlamp ruins your night vision. You can see the streetlamp at Furnace Creek for about 30 miles and the whole valley by the light of the moon. Most riders will be riding with their headlamp off and their taillights on.

The road surface can be a little rough, not a ride for your skinniest tires.
