Man, three stage wins in a row. Although not official, on paper Eric is the new world number one pushing Lance to second in the rankings. Great rider, and a classy guy too. He went through the podium quickly today without much celebration. Telekom released a statement expressing that it would not be right to celebrate or express emotion in light of the events of the day.

Marcel Wust stated that there is no one in the race except for maybe Danielo Hondo, Zabel's leadout who has the turn of power to compete with Eric. Wust's record of four stage wins in five days in the Vuelta may be in jeopordy, and even Wust concludes that Zabel will in all likelyhood tie the record with ease.

Zabel has won thirty races this year now. His first win came in April at the Milan-San Remo, and he just keeps winning. Really an unbelievable talent.

More class and better rider then LA? Haven't we gotten past all that crap yet?

They are both pretty classy in my book.

Better rider? Who cares. They are both great to watch.

More class than Lance? Who cares? I would say that both of them have much more class than the majority of athletes out there. Compare them to some of the guys in the NFL (you know...the National Felony League!). If you have to pick an athlete to look up to, both would be good candidates. Why rip either one apart?

I think it was in Cycle Sport, anyway. It featured his collection of bikes, which was a good argument against those who say pros don't care about what they ride.

I saw that story. He was pretty passionate about some of those bikes, and made me feel good about his joy in riding, not just earning money.

Hey, what issue was that? OR, how can I get a copy of it?

Thanks!

Unfortunately, my wife might have tossed the magazine by now. It was published some time this year, I believe, with a photo of Zabel on the cover with his green Pinarello.
