|Just had a quick question to get an opinion on. What do you think between those two helmets in terms of comfort, venting and looks. I'm trying to decide between the two.
Thanks for your opinions.

|I have both (one was a gift). As far as comfort, both are comfortable for me (with a very slight edge to the Pneumo) but everyone's head is different. One improvement with the Pneumo was the side straps (the straps which are fixed at the side and wrap around to the back to become the "Roc Loc" system) are permanent rather than attached with velcro. In my Boreas the velcro glue came off in one season, and I've had to reglue once sweat, etc. eats away at the contact points. As far as looks go, your call. I like both, but the Pneumo is slightly streamlined. Venting is the same..ignore the hype.|

|I had a Boreas and upgraded to the Pneumo. I also noticed a slightly better fit, I guees the new Roc Loc 4 being the difference. Both vent very well. I like the looks of both. Try them on and see if you notice a fit difference.|

|Pneumo seems to be the Giro replacement for last year's top of the line Boreas helmet.
I have a Boreas and have no complaints. I've seen Boreas closeouts at prices as low as $89 - the Pneumo is around $150.
I would guess that if you need the latest and the greatest the Pneumo is the way to go. Safety is probably not an issue between the two so the big deferencse are the RocLock 4 vs 3 and vent configuration.
I don't know if the difference between last year's latest and greatest and this year's replacement is worth the difference in price. I'd probably go for the Boreas unless there is a fit issue involved.

|than my old Boreas. I agree with Horace about the glue problem, and like the latest roc loc better . . almost need a bottle opener to get my helmet off. ;-}|

|take a look at the Eclipse, Colorado Cyclist @ $70. They have it listed as a roc loc 2 system and am fairly sure this is a misprint. I was at the LBS and looked at the Eclipse and it is a RL3. I bought one (Eclipse) and the difference between the 2 and 3 is an adjustable tab on the strap across the back of the head (between the 2 white tabs). My Helios (discontinued) has the 2 system. I am yet to find any helmet that has glue in it that does not break down from sweat over time. Goop glue will fix the failure. The Boreas and Eclipse are both airy helmets and both have RL3 system, big price difference.|
|Most noticeable difference was lack of pads at top for Boreas.||Scy|

|I have a shaved head and the lack of pads on Boreas made it hurt. If you have hair on top, this shouldn't be an issue.|| |
