It is just the way the light is hitting the bike. The seat tube on this bike is somewhat teardrop shaped. All three main tubes on this bike have special shaping to increase strength and stiffness. But none are bladed.

We've got a Marioni (sp?) frame in the shop where i work with a teardrop shaped seat tube that requires a matching teardrop shaped seatpost. not terribly clever from a compatibility standpoint.

The bike uses any 25.0 seatpost.
