|Since this new format began, I often have trouble posting, often being prompted with a message saying I didn't type in my user name when I did and asking me to insert it, which I try to re-insert but to no avail. I keep having to back click several times and re-try, sometimes from scratch. If I click on a post in a middle of a thread, there is no way I can reply at all, as there is no prompt for a screen name. I have to go vack out and click on "view thread" and reply that way. Can you fix this up? I hope I don't have to change my user name under this new system to get around this. Please advise.|

|What browser are you using?|

I will try to reproduce your problem on my computer and describe it to our engineers. raboboys question is a good one, what version browser are you using? (I think you told me this before for a previous problem, but I forget).
Also, it will help if I can confirm that this is not just an isolated case, but is also happening to other people (I suspect it may be, but I'm not sure.)

|before I logged in officially after the change. You used to be able to log in when you first posted but that seemed to change? Once I logged in (seperate from posting) it stopped.|

|Before I set it up to remember my login, I had the same problem. It went away after that.
What's cool about regestering a name and letting it remember you each time is you don't have to logon, and I can tell which threads I read (red instead of blue hyperlinks) at work when I get home later.

|Long before the format change. Come to think of it, the threads I've visited are no longer changing colors, although they did last week, although that also quirkily.|

|I had the problem once this morning. I've posted twice since and haven't had the problem.|

|It's happening more than half the time and getting hard to deal with. It happended trying to print this out (I get a Post Message Error: you must type in a user name.)
I also have problems at home, in more ways than one. (For one set of problems, see the long thread below. :-)) There I have Windows NT Millenium, or whatever it's called.
There are all kinds of smaller, possibly related quirks going on. Sometimes it prompts a demand for user name and sometimes not (is that what Spinchick is saying?). Sometimes I see the "If you are a registered user, just enter your name..." message and sometimes not. (BTW, can you make the font or boldness of that passage different from the poster's message that appears above it? I keep reading right into it from the poster's message, thinking that it's part of the message.)

|...if you re-register, it will probably work. Although you may have to re-register with a slightly altered handle (since it will clash with your current one, of course).
Second, I will try to have engineering check on this problem (which, unfortunately means that no answer will be immediately forthcoming because they are still scrambling and trying to fix the server speed problems).
