|I bought an Italia flight saddle for my new bike last month and it hurts my butt. I thought I could get used to it, but I just cant. If anyone else had the same problem, what saddle did you replace it with?|

|I use the Prolink. (Selle Italia). Very comfy, wider seat. You might like it if the Flite hurts (mine did).|

|As you will find, saddles are a very personal thing. All I can say is start with the classics like the San Marco Rolls or the Regal. They haven't lasted this many years on the market for not being comfortable. Personally I never had butt problem but one with numbness and now use the San Marco Squadra. You may have to go through a few to find the right one but it will be worth it. Good luck|

|Saddles are much to personal an item to suggest that what works for one person will work for another. Perhaps if you gave more details than "it hurts" you might get some input that you could use. For example, what adjustments did you make to get comfortable? How much do you ride? What were you riding before? How big are you (height) and how much do you weigh?|

|It could be the saddle, or it could just be positioning, particularly the angle. You can zoom in on what you need by analyzing what's wrong. Chafing, pinching, saddle sores, perineum pain, numbness, etc. "My butt hurts" is probably not enough information.
Flites are popular, but certainly not right for everyone.

|because Brooks rules and I will be flamed!
Honestly, look into a Brooks B17. It cured all my problems. wallbike.com offers a 6-month money back gaurantee. I have been happy. On longer rides of 60+ miles I get a little numb, but nothing compared to 15 minutes into the ride on other saddles. Some of us are higher mainteneace than others.
Do a search on Brooks and decide for yourself.

|Saddles are very much a personal thing, which already has been stated. I've heard comments from other riders about the S.I. Flite being too narrow and having sharp edges. Usually when you slap on a new saddle you have to make a few adjustments with your position. I've had good luck with Selle San Marco saddles. It's pretty much hit and miss. I even tried one of the Brooks saddles and it didn't work for me. That's not saying that it won't work for you. I'd say after one month, I'd try another saddle. A saddle should feel good from the start, maybe a couple of adjustments for position, but that's it. It either works or it doesn't. I could recommend a saddle but it would be like recommending that you wear a certain brand shoe. Keep on searching until you find the right one. It's one of the little mysteries that come with the sport....|

|Had exact same problem. Replaced it with Prolink Trans Am. Wonderful..
Seats are such a personal thing though.
