|Now that it's getting cooler, I'm thinking about warmer clothes. I find wool normally to be itchy. Is it the same with the cycling jerseys?|

|The Rivendell Bicycles http://www.rivendellbicycles.com/ website has some nice info on wool. We ride year round the correct clothing really helps. Gortex cycling jackets, booties, gloves, tights and something to cover your head. For really good and inspiring information go to the Icebiker site. http://www.enteract.com/~icebike/index.html|
|Thanks for the tip. I'll check it out, but||Spinchick|

|I guess you didn't grow up where it was cold. I could tell you stories (we moved from Pago Pago to Waikiki when I was 7, I nearly died from those cold Hawaiian summer mornings).
Just think about this-Superwool makes the best socks and what part of your body is more sensitive than the bottom of your feet? (Please don't answer that in detail).
The important thing about wool is to get good quality. The cheap stuff approaches hair quality and a "Hair Shirt" has always been the standard for uncomfortable garments.
Wool will also last a very long time if cared for making the initial high cost for good wool more justifiable. BTW I hope like I am not always coming across as a tightwad, lately I just been paying attention to value.

|I looked at the site. It seems to say that these are for hot as well as cold weather. Can't imagine that wool would be comfortable in the heat? Never worn one. Any experience?|

|Hard to find now, but the best wool jersey (IMHO) is Swobo. Swobo was sort of the Ben and Jerry's of bicycle clothing, a company run by guys with more heart than business sense. They managed to go out of business while making the finest wool jerseys around.
Their wool is so fine it almost feels like cotton (made in New Zealand). Perfect for fall rides. Ride with a pair of arm warmers and you can be comfortable over a wide range of temperatures.
Very hard to find on line now. Spokesman in Santa Cruz had some ( http://spokesmanbicycles.com/ )
...I'm not sure, but I think some other stores may have had Women's Jerseys - check around...
