If you buy a new 2200 it will cost around $1500. I have a 2000 model and I haven't had many problems with it. This was my first road bike and it has served me well. If you want to save some money I would suggest buying a used bike. If you look at what you will pay for a new 2200 and what you can get used for the same price you will be able to get a much nicer bike if you buy used.

This guy builds up bikes to your preferences and often has some incredible deals. last time i checked he had some c'dale caad4 for a really good price. you can probably get a quality aluminum frame with ultegra components for less than a new trek 2200 (which comes with 105 components). you can also get campy if you prefer.
