Advice on Steel frame maintenance...Lou M

I would appreciate some feedback on this subject. I washed my MXL this weekend and found what I thought to be a rust spot on the top tube, right where most of the sweat falls. Now it looks a small scratch. I guess this scratch had been there since the crash. After every ride I try to use a damp cloth on the frame especially on the chrome lugs, not sure if I am doing enough. How about after a wet ride? What is the routine? what is the best stuff to use to clean a steel frame?

I too have used what you have posted. The spray polish is quick and easy. For a more durable shine/protection I now use automotive paste wax.

I agree. Paste wax is more durable. I have a painted frame and was able to find an exact match in at the hobby shop to touch up paint chips.
