I don't think anybody will give you a loan for a bike. You may be able to get a personal loan for the amount, but they're not going to want a bicycle as collateral because they don't know what to do with it if you default. You're probably going to have to credit-card it, and if you look at the interest rates on that, it's probably not worth it.

If I understand your question right, many shops will offer financing on bikes. However, these are considered unsecured loans and usually carry interest rates comparable to a credit card. Your second best bet is to find a card which offers a somewhat reasonable rate (~12-13%). Your best bet is to save up the dough.
Mow some lawns and do odd jobs it's quick money for bikes!Bob P

You would be surprised how much money you can make by painting in your spare time and mowing lawns. TURN OFF THE TV and get moving, how bad do you want Durace or Campy?
