|First of all thanks to everyone who gave me info. about purchasing a new bike. On Sat. I tried out three bikes. I rode a Trek 1200, Specialized Allez, and a Cannondale R 500. I had planned to try out a GT, but the shop that use to sell them has gotten rid of all GT and Schwinn's(probably a good thing). The Trek rode well, but I didn't like the Sora components, so it was checked off the list. I then rode the Cannondale and the Specialized. Of the two bikes I could not tell much of a difference. The only thing different was that the Allez had a shorter top tube and this made me feel a little cramped. The guys at the shop said they would put on a stem 1 cm longer if I wanted. In the end I decided on the Cannondale, the main reason being that the ride on it felt the same, the components were basically the same(Tiagra), it has a carbon fiber fork, and it was $200 cheaper. I was able to get in a quick 10 miles on it during a break in the rain yesterday, and I loved everything except the saddle(felt like I was sitting on a 2X4, but that will be changed soon).|

|Good choice. You cant go wrong with the bike you purchased, now ride it into the ground so you have to buy another bike, Of coarse by then you will need a custom bike to fit your skills. :-)|

|Shame on them for letting you walk out with the stock saddle still on the bike... I think those should say "not fit for human use" !!!!!
Congrats!!! That's a nice purchase good for thousands of miles of cycling pleasure. Comfy enough to sport tour, light enough for entry racing. Kick ass!

I bought the same bike 3 weeks ago, and now, at 350 mi on the odo, I love it even more. By the way, what saddle did yours come with?
I felt pretty uncomfortable on my Selle Royal Hawk at first, but after lowering the seat by half an inch, and switching to bike shorts, I have no complaints about it, at least for <40mi rides.

|Mine came with the same saddle. I'll give it a couple more rides, maybe it just needs to break in a little. I know saddles need a few hours to break in but....I have never been on one like this.|| |
