Do you think Lance visits this message board?Chest Rockwell
Jun 12, 2001 9:35 PM
Or any other pro cyclist for that matter? Chris (Carmichael) said that Lance was always logged on to the net before bedtime. Either he's checking out stock sites, or cycling sites. You reading this Lance? Identify yourself!

I resemble that remark!!

Actually, you never know who is reading here. There very well could be some extremely talented, knowledgeable and wise people who poke around on forums in their downtime. I happen to know...that's all I'm gonna say. (and NO, I'm not one of them).

Yes I do, and I have to agree with Mr. Doug Sloan, the tone of this board is really going to hell. It's turned into RoadBikeRant.com these days. Be nice or I won't visit anymore. And no, I don't post as Wailer! -la

Enjoyed the book very much. I've been crediting the rain for getting me back on the road (wet trails), but it really was "It's Not About the Bike" that got me back on skinny tires. New bike on order.

I still prefer dirt though. Wade wadepatton@mindspring.com

Dear Yodles,

BoA has a policy, which you signed, informing you that internet activity and your email can/will be monitored, for a variety of reasons, at the full discretion of management. YOUR internet activity IS being monitored and the URLs you visit are logged. Since your internet useage is very high, it gets flagged and those log reports are reviewed, websites are visited to note content, and a summary report is sent to the management committee. I do not agree with this approach but it is done under the guise of security and they do pay my mortgage.

Suffice to say your superiors are on to you and your account is being point monitored so you should probably get back to work and quit messing around on non-work related activities. BTW, some of your email traffic is also inappropriate when using company owned equipment. Just trying to help. :)
point taken. nmJamesT.Kirk

BoA's Big Brother researches the RBR forum well enough to know who Wailer is?? Sounds like a spider caught in its own web.

Remember, anyone can pull IP's!

I wondered how long it would take before someone asked the obvious question, not like I didn't hint at it enough. While I'm sure that BoA does indeed monitor web useage, most big companies do, I don't work for them. I'm actually LA. You outed me.

that was one of the first things i thought about, but hey, whoever he is, he knows where I work and that's enough to make me cautious. Don't recall mentioning that on this board. He may be full of crap, but I probably should spend less time on the web anyway... NOW, if he is the real, honest to goodness, most ass kicking cyclist on the face of the earth, HOW DO WE PROVE IT??

I would imagine that if he does that he uses a screen name other than his own, and wouldn't come forward to identify himself so that he can enjoy the forum in animity. It's been my experience that famous people enjoy their privacy, and enjoy being treated like a regular people and not some glorified image. Just think, you too may have flamed Lance here and he might think you are an idiot. Think of that next time you flame someone. ;)
On the other hand,mike mcmahon

he might have flamed one of us and we might think he's an idiot. I suspect BON may have been Lance in disguise. ;-)

We went through this a while back. BON was really stirring it up. We got all over him for it, and he promised to be nice. Never heard from him again.

Would it change any of your posts?

Best case he does honestly & shares his vast cycling knowledge with us. In which caes we have already benefited.

Worst case he Has an alter-ego that brings down the rest of the board. In which case I'd rather not know.

He is (if he is here) certainly not the only person who is posting anonomously!!

"No Pants" Lance Rentzelmike mcmahon
Jun 13, 2001 10:03 PM
Lance was a receiver for the Dallas Cowboys and husband of Joey Heatherton. After pleading guilty to exposing himself from a 10 year old girl, he was cut from the Cowboy roster and Heatherton later left him. After the dust settled from the guilty plea, he played a few seasons with the L.A. Rams and then settled into obscurity. Despite never having been a cyclist, he is known to lurk and occasionally post on cycling boards. Thanks for asking. :-)

What a memory. I've always wondered how these names spread so rapidly across the country back before the internet & before national mags & TV would print/say them. I have never met a football fan from any part of the country that doesn't remember Rentzel as "No Pants Lance". It's amazing. Personally I think it was because no one could believe that anyone married to Joey Heatherton...... well never mind.
