|Longest ride ever, time & miles||The General|

|I am curious what peoples longest rides have been. I look at two different details, time and miles.
My longest time was on the mountain bike during the Cascade Cream Puff 100 mile mountian bike race. 20,000' feet of climbing in 13 hours.
Distance was a 200 mile road ride early spring in 11 hours.
I am going for a 250 mile road ride on Thursday this week that will be the longest ride both miles & time. It is crossing the Cascade Mountains twice with 2 minor passes as well. It will be approx. 15,000' feet of climbing and I expect it to take about 15 hours.

|...Mr. High Mileage.
I feel like a rank amateur..oops I am...since my longest is a century (several of 'em). They count as longest in time too.
Last year I did a century through thunderstorms, so it took me about 6 1/2 hours to complete. I guess that's my longest in time. We couldn't see 20 feet in front of us. Our group decided to stop and take cover when lightening struck a tree beside us. The last 30 miles was ride 5 miles, duck and cover for 20 minutes, ride, duck, etc...
I would like to do a longer ride both in time and distance but my personal time is the restraint: wife, children, job, 2 bit legs,etc..

|Rode the Manteca Century yesterday. I'm new to this rode bike madness so I don't have a lot of long rides to my palmares.
We rode 110 miles in 6 hours even. We took it pretty easy for most of the ride. Had fun, even when the bull mastiff chased us. The fact that I'm writing this means he didn't catch us. Thank god, he had some big teeth.

|... in which a lone rider went round and round a velodrome for 6 days straight, with a few short breaks. These were big spectacles around 1900, but were finally banned because they ruined the rider's health. The total mileages for an event were in the thousands.
So now they do the RAAM, Race Across America, the record for which is 8-something days for a solo rider, and I figure that makes it WORSE than a 6-day. Coast-to-coast diagonally, I'm guessing 400 miles a day average. I'd like to do a double-century one day. The thought of a quad a day for 8 days just blows my mind.

|400km (~250mi?) qualifier for Paris-Brest-Paris. Started at 3am, finished at 11:30pm. Rode in a paceline for half of the first 60mi (duh!) and bonked at 100mi, thought the day was over until I started eating/drinking. Finished strong.
Attempted the 600km 2-day ride, stopped after 210mi -- body aches, felt drunk, tired but couldn't sleep... Couldn't get in the saddle again.
Will try again, though!
