I was thinking of ordering from Joe. How was your experience? Wheels stay true for many miles? Is his expertise worth the price? Any testimonials would be helpful.

I have a new set of wheels that Joe built for me that I'm putting many hard miles on. They are staying nearly perfectly round and true, but I did have to touch up true the front just a minor bit. Joe told me this was common, and since I have experience building and maintaining wheels, this was not a problem for me to correct. The wheels he built for me are FiR SC170 Grid rims, 32 hole, 14/15 DB DT spokes in a 3X pattern w/ Campy record hubs. They are so smooth, I highly recommend him for building a premier set of wheels. He was great to work with, and he offered me opinions on different builds and what best suited my riding style. He was very honest and extremely knowledgable. I recommend his wheels to anyone who is considering a hand-built set.

Isn't he the guy Grant Petersen says...cory

I spent an hour or two with Joe in July to talk with him and look over his shop and was impressed. If I have a custom set of wheels built, I will have him build them.
