Just purchased new deeper dish rims than my old Mavic Open Pros. Keep getting flats. Should I be using a special or wider rim tape? Thanks!

Take a look at your flat inner tubes.

If you have a single hole on the outer circumference of the tube, you have a puncture. Check your outer tire. Frequently a thorn or a piece of glass will be imbedded in your tire and will continue to puncture your replacement innertubes.

If you have a hole on the inner circumference of the tube, you have a rim strip problem. If the rim strip doesn't completely cover every single spoke hole, you will continue to get flats. I recommend Velox tim tape. Be sure to get the width that covers your rim from flange to flange.

If you have two parallel slits in your tube, you are getting impact flats. Use more air pressure.
