|Hello all! Making the switch from a touring bike to a road bike made me regret my rear rack... A quick release rear rack is a valid alternative on a race bike but I find them bulky and heavy. Asking for comments on this board someone wrote to lock at Moots's TailGator. I did just that and thought the concept was great but a bit expensive at $125.00 I bought it anyway and must say that I am VERY VERY impress with this product... Very light at 115g and the bags at 85g. Cargo space is very large. The bags are not directly under the saddle so the upper parts of the legs do not come in contact with the 2 bags. Bags are well contructed and have reflective bands. I do not have any ties with this company but when I see an excellent bike product I just have to say it loudly to the biking community!!! The best buy I made in the last 2 years I would add!!! Bye Marc in Montréal|

I remember your original post and I appreciate your feedback regarding the Tail Gator. I just visited the Moots site and they don't mention the capacity of the bags. Do you happen to know or could you give me the dimensions of the bags? Thank you for your help.

|Cher Raymond! Hope you are doing well resting on your cloud mine is very comfty... The bags seem to be made by Fat Eddy's Thread Works in Streamboat Springs - far away for l'Alpe d'Huez I believe... - You can reach them at: www.fateddys.com. I checked but the specific bags to go with the TailGator are not part of their catalogue so I presume that those bags are made specificaly for Moots.. Both companies's phone numbers are available on their respective site. The only thing I can say for sure is that the bags are are long as the titanium rack... So roughly I would say the bags are 9 to 10 inches X 5. Votre dévoué et distingué ennemi, Jacques Anquetil HA! HA! HA!|

|I use one on my mountain bike. It's well made and light. There have been at least two iterations of the bag design and it may be further improved since my model. When I called Moots about a problem with the first version they sent an updated set of bags immediately. Impressive service.
I'm thinking about trying a Camelbak bladder with the extension hose in the lower bag for long hot-weather roadbike rides to get the benefit of easier drinking without having to carry the Camelbak. Anyone ever tried something like this?
