to add to an earlier thread;

If you're checking out a motorcycle and notice that the chain is on the "wrong" side...

1. You usually wear shorts off the bike so you could show off the rippling muscles on your legs.

2. You stare at your bike after a ride.

3. You love the sound of your tires rolling on the concrete.

4. You stare at Excel, Colorado Cyclist, and Performance catalogs while making poo-poo

5. You're answering threads like this in sites like this instead of working!

You start to like the look of bike jerseys, shorts and other clothes.

You spend your spare cash on bike parts you don't need rather than CDs, clothes, cars, books or other stuff you don't need.

You wear a cycling cap.

You buy matching tires, tape and cages for your bike.

You know how far you've ridden this year within 100 miles.

You check message boards like this every day.

You check out the local bike shops whenever you're visiting a new city.

This is so true. I visited so many bike shops when I visited the US a few months ago. I think Revolution Cycles in Georgetown is one of the best bike shops (based on the stuff they have) I have seen so far.
About a mile from my house. I never go there. nm.MB1

..You tell your wife that you want another bike for your 45th birthday

..You park your truck outside because there's no room in the garage with all that bike stuff everywhere.
You see old Ford truck green and you think Celeste. nmMB1

Aug 22, 2001 6:20 AM Celeste a road bike that that only came in green? Hmmmm.
How bout this one: Your a bike geek when you're out of town and your car automatically makes a hard right when you see a sign that says:SPEED CYCLE... and it's a laundromat! Wife laughs hysterically, kids roll their eyes. Really happened!
O.K. here goes,MB1

Bianchi (an Italian brand over 100 years old) traditionally paints their bikes "Celeste" (Italian for sky blue, I hate to think what the sky looked like in Italy the day they picked this color.) Lately their bikes are available with other colors but Celeste is usually included somehere on every one of their bikes made in Italy.

The Bianchi color Celeste exactly matches Ford truck green (a light pastel green) from the 50's and 60's. So if you are looking for touch up paint for your Bianchi go to a NAPA store and ask for old Ford Green.

And what are you doing putting the wife and kids in a car, truck broke down?

...Thanks for clearing that up. Bianchi also makes ATB frames, only hardtails though. The the wifes minivan better, TV,VCR, too windy in the back of my truuuuk anyway. Enjoy!
Do you SS?MB1

Pure, and a whole lot of fun. Bianchi has some great SSers. Then you could get one in Celeste, switch to off dirt riding, shave your legs, become an elitest and look down at them dirtbags. No, better not get a Bianchi afterall.

You get a permanent chainring tatoo on your right inner calf (I've seen them) That's committment.

You have oil stains on your living room floor (not me, though, my wife would kill me).

You have rollers in the kitchen.

You have Lance Armstrong poster hanging somewhere.

You have any cycling related jewelry (me, I want the RAAM ring).

You permanently leave a bike rack on your vehicle.

You wear ankle high bike socks when not on the bike.

You want to name your daughter "Celeste".

You use Italian and French cycling terms in everyday conversation.

You take your bike with you on a trip just in case you might be able to work in a ride.

OLN is the only channel you need, now (well, other than the Weather channel).

Your garage or basement looks like a bike shop (Akirasho!).

You know the gear inches for each of your gear combinations.

You are actually proud to be called a Bike Geek.

During the TdF, you explained to more than one person how cycling is actually a team sport.

You risk speeding tickets to catch the car up ahead with two bikes locked in the roof rack just so you can check them out.

You have several bottles of Lemon Pledge in your workshop for polishing your bike frames while the furniture upstairs hasn't been cleaned or waxed for years.

The number of t-shirts you own which advertise a bike ride or race outnumber the ones you own that don't.

You are a bike geek if:

You see a female cyclist and check out the bike before you check her out !!!

Your wife knows that all it'll take to get a $15,000 family room addition built is for her to say, "We could decorate it in a bicycle theme." Now I have a family room with Graham Watson photos on the wall and other assorted bike art.

Your race bike is worth 10 times as much as your car (not hard when you drive a 77 Volvo with 250k on it).

Your Thule rack on top of your car is worth more than the car itself: thank goodness for the rack locks!
