When fitting cable housings from brake hoods to down tube braze-ons,
is there a correct arc the housing should follow ? In otherwords,
should it arc slightly inwards to headtube or directly inline or slightly outward ?

and, I think it is ok to try this at home. I use enough cable housing for the handlebar to turn until it bumps the toptube without binding. I just looked and with this 'measurement' the cables just touch in their arc from the brake levers to the downtube cable-stops. With this set-up I can get a frame minus wheels in the trunk of my SE-r.
