|I noticed that some bike makers have limited warrantees that are only valid for the original owners. Are there any that have frame warrantees that are valid for non-original owners? |
Just wondering if getting a used bike as a first bike is a good option...

|There is nothing wrong with the purchase of a second hand bike. I have not heard of a warrenty that changes hand. I have purchased two used bikes on E-Bay and have had great buys. Bikes like computers to some people have a short life. It's not that the bike is dead but the person just wants the newest thing going. Two to Four years is a great target life for a bike. One the technology does cause this. Other things like a person expectations of getting out and riding change and a desire to move up. Be very accurate, descriptive, percise, but do ask a lot of questions before buying. Ask if it has been in any kind of accidents. Dents on the tubes, scrathes etc. Just ask and document just in case you need to go back on them. You might want to wait till Sep. when the majority of the 2002s will be out then the bike shops will be discounting the old ones. Good luck. MCCL|

|I lost my proof of purchase.
I should be in your records.
Why should that matter.
Can I speak to the person in charge of claims?
How about instead of a replacement, a significant discount on a new model?
Just be PERSISTENT!!!!
|LOL! Hadn't thought of that ;-)||kenyee|

|Yes, all Airborne Frames are eligibe for a warranty transfer. We do it all of the time. For a small fee, we will inspect your bike, clean it up, and send it back to you with a full lifetime, frame replacement warranty. Please let me know if I can answer any more questions.

|Hey! What's up?!?! I've tried to email you guys, but the email address I have doesn't work. Fire me off an email with your new address!
Haven't been racing much this season, work has been very busy here at Airborne with all the new things we have going on. Plus I bought a new car (a Porsche) and a new house, so I have lot's of other weekend distractions..........
