Heard a rumor that the 2002 Dra-Ace line will include triple rings...can anyone confirm this...either the rumor or fact...?

Thanks.

I'm 99.9% sure that it's true. (I forgot where I read it though).

Fact. For those with too much money and not enough fitness. No one who uses this site I guess.

Fitness...I shouldn't take your comment personally, but I guess I am. I suppose if I rode in just about any other location in the U.S I wouldn't even think about the need for a triple. But, I live in Colorado and some of my favorite rides are over mtn passes, the LOWEST of which is about 10,000' and the highest is 12,000+. And higher still is the Mt. Evans road that stretches to 14,000+. There are several cat4/5+ climbs around here and I guess I not too proud to say I need all the help I can get.

Supergo has the Dura-Ace triple components listed in their ad in the latest issue of VeloNews.

It's a fact. I think I saw that it's coming with 53/39/30 rings. I believe I also read on rec.bicycles.tech that there will be separate D-A shifters for the double and triple and not a single shifter that will handle both. Shimano is also reintroducing standard reach brake calipers in 2002 at the Ultegra and a lower (not sure which) level. For folks who like to mount fenders on rainy days and don't need or want cantis.

If you look on the Shimano Europe web site you can see it. The only problem is that you can't mix it with Ultegra.
