Achilles tendoniitis (spel??) and bike fitOmar

Thanks to replies to my previous post on heel pain. Can anyone tell me if achilles tendoniitis is aggravated or relieved by changes in seat height, crank length, pedalling style, pedal brand/type and cleat position? Appreciate any input.

I can only tell you what worked for me. I have bursitis in my right heel caused by an old achillies tendon injury due to running. I learned to pedal flat footed, I usually remain seated when climbing as standing really tweaks the tendon area. I wear flexible plastic orthotics in my shoes so I can have something to push off against. My shoe selection is based on whether or not my orthotic will fit into the shoe. I use Look cleats as they are wide, and my knop setting is about 1.5cm behind the pedal spindle. When my achilles first started to flare up a doctor told me to avoid standing while pedaling. Unfortunately running did me in, not cycling. Most of my injury was caused by impact and waiting to long until I sought medical advice from an expert. I hope there is a message in here for you somewhere...
